The Israeli Supreme Court’s ruling on the development of the Leviathan gas field will further complicate intended Israeli gas export deals with Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and other states, All Africa wrote.

In November, Israel’s Leviathan partners entered into negotiations with Egypt’s Dolphinus Holdings to supply as much as 4bcm of natural gas annually for 10 to 15 years, All Africa cited earlier reports by Bloomberg.

The Egyptian government had previously expressed its approval of importing gas from Israel by private Egyptian companies amid an energy crisis that intensified in the past years. However, this has yet to materialize into actual imports in light of last year’s decision by Cairo to freeze import talks with Israel.
