In a press release to Egypt Oil&Gas, the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources stated that the minister, Tarek El Molla, met British Ambassador to Egypt, John Casson, to discuss mutual cooperation in the oil and natural gas fields and how to improve mutual projects with the UK, as it is considered one of the biggest oil and gas investors in Egypt.

The Egyptian minister stated that petroleum cooperation is a milestone in the economical mutual alliance between the two nations. He added that the outstanding results, as well as enhanced oil and gas production of the explorations conducted by British firms are further motivation to increase similar investments in field and expand on bilateral energy collaboration between the two countries.

During the meeting, El Molla and Casson examined oil and gas exploration projects by British companies, such as the North Alexandria gas field that will start its first phase in the second half of 2017 and is expected toboost Egypt’s gas production.
