A press release to Egypt Oil&Gas stated that the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, met with the Spanish Ambassador to Egypt, Arturo Affilio, to discussed mutual cooperation between the two countries and ways to strengthen the relations between them. The meeting aimed to study possible investments in the fields of petroleum, gas, and petrochemicals.

El Molla stated that Egypt has several oil and gas projects that can attract Spanish companies to invest , as the country is considered an important gateway to African markets as well as the Middle East.

The Egyptian minister added that Egypt is going through an intensified program to explore the country’s mineral wealths on land and offshore. El Molla added that this should motivate international and Spanish companies to invest in exploration and development projects.

In related news, El Molla, met with British Ambassador to Egypt, John Casson, to discuss mutual cooperation in the oil and natural gas fields and how to improve mutual projects with the UK, as it is considered one of the biggest oil and gas investors in Egypt.
