A press release to Egypt Oil&Gas stated that the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, received Kuwaiti Ambassador to Cairo, Mohamed Saleh Al Zoewakh. In the meeting they discussed bilateral cooperation in oil and gas which was witnessing noticeable improvement in light of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations.

El Molla stated that the joint projects in oil and gas stand as an example to be followed in other Arab cooperation. He added that Egyptian-Kuwaiti collaboration include the agreement to import crude oil from Kuwait to be processed in Egyptian refineries as well as importing diesel from Kuwaiti Petroleum Authority with payment facilitations that last for several years.

Additionally, Kuwait Energy Company and Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) started exploring Egyptian oil and gas resources. Furthermore, the partnership between Kuwait Energy and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) to develop Fayhaa and Sib fields in Iraq is a new step in the Egyptian-Kuwaiti cooperation outside Egypt. This comes as Kuwait is also investing in Egypt’s natural gas delivery and pipelines’ construction.

The Kuwaiti Ambassador confirmed the strength of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations and mutual collaboration along the lines of the two countries’ historical relevance within the Arabic region.
