Four international firms have expressed interest in Egypt’s global tender, that was launched by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) in late June 2016, for renting a third floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) with a capacity of 750mcf/d, reported Reuters.
In a related report, Reuters added that three of the four firms were identified by a ministry official: Norway’s Hoegh, US-based Excelerate Energy, and the Singapore-based Norwegian gas shipping company BW Gas. The ministry official declined to name the fourth firm.
Hoegh delivered Egypt’s first FSRU in April 2015 and BW Gas supplied the second in September. Reuters quoted the ministry official saying: “The door to present offers is open until the end of next week so offers can be decided on in the period between the end of August and the beginning of September.”
