The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) Chairman, Mohamed El Masry, has announced that his company has completed drilling the fourth well in Zohr natural gas field, in the Mediterranean Sea, according to Al Bawaba.

According to the sources, El Masry noted that completing the drilling activities at the fourth well is set to accelerate the gas field’s operational plans to start output in 2017 with a daily capacity of approximately 1bcf.

He also added that the drilling activities at the fifth and sixth wells will kick off immediately in order to complete the whole drilling operations at the field.

EGAS is committed to the determined drilling schedule of the Italian energy company Eni, that discovered the Zohr field in 2015, reported Zawya. The field is believed to potentially produce a total of 30tcf of gas.
